Graduation Night

Anna's primary school holds an annual event where all of the children perform for their parents and teachers as a thank you for the year. As it's the end of the year and the last time the year 7s will be at school before they move on to high school, they also "graduate".

The dances have been choreographered by an external teaching group called, "EduDance". They have been in school all term teaching the kids of all years dance. It's part of the physical education program.

Anna and her class performed, "Best Years of our Lives".

Anna is in a red shirt, black skirt and leggings at the front of the group on the floor.

I was so proud of her!!

We have had lots of tears though, I think she has just realised that she won't be in pre-primary ever again and she's missing her teacher.

It's hard as I can't tell her what teacher she will have for Year 1 as no-one knows! It depends on the numbers and enrolment doesn't close till January! They may have a split Year 1/Year 2 class, or they may all be together.

The day before school starts in February, they post the class list up on the notice board!

What's it they say, "don't put your daughter on the stage"!

She absolutely LOVED it!

Next week she's booked in to take two drama classes, "Mime and Movement" and "Play Building". Play Building is about improvisation, role-playing and movement. I'm hoping she'll enjoy it, but looking at her dance performance, I think she will!
